Wiesenthal Center Welcomes Indictment in Germany of Stutthof Guard Bruno Dey

Jerusalem – The Simon Wiesenthal Center today welcomed the indictment late last week in Hamburg of Bruno Dey for aiding and abetting the murder of 5,230 people while serving as a guard at the Stutthof concentration camp in Poland.

In a statement issued here today by its chief Nazi-hunter Israel director Dr. Efraim Zuroff, the Center expressed its fullest support for the ongoing efforts of the German judicial authorities to bring Holocaust perpetrators to justice.

According to Zuroff:

“The passage of time in no way diminishes the criminal responsibility of those guilty of aiding and abetting the implementation of the Final Solution. The Wiesenthal Center has assisted in the recent cases of two Stutthof guards by locating more than 20 survivors of the camp, most of whom are currently residing in Israel.”
