The
speech delivered by Mr. Vladimir Vukčević, the Serbian War Crimes
Prosecutor, at the press conference held during the visit of
Dr. Efraim Zuroff, the Director of the Israeli Wiesenthal Center,
to the War Crimes Prosecutor's Office |
Today
we have turned a new page in the history of our judicial institutions,
which have already earned significant credibility. At this point,
as a truly democratic and civilised state, Serbia is more determined
than ever to cope with the crimes committed in the 1940s. more... |

Pursuing
a symbol of Nazi perversion |
Doesn't
the world owe it to all the Nazis' victims to make equal efforts
to bring each of their torturers and killers to justice? Recently,
I've found myself increasingly preoccupied with that question,
following a two-week mission to South America on the trail
of the Wiesenthal Center's most-wanted Nazi war criminal, Dr.
Aribert Heim. more... |

Last
chance to catch the Nazis |
The
news that Austria is re-opening the case of Erna Wallisch,
a female guard at the Majdanek death camp, currently residing
in Vienna, was accompanied in many media outlets by a photograph
of an elderly, rather disoriented housewife - who looked as
if she had been awaken from a deep sleep. more... |

Can Be No Forgiveness For The Wicked |
Got
to hand it to the Austrians. They sure love their history.
Especially World War II history. They appear rather fond of
that. It explains why the Austrian government refuses to prosecute
a Nazi war criminal living in their nation. more... |

He
wiped out Greece’s Jews. Should he stand trial? |
Should
a pathetic old man of 94, badly maimed by a letter bomb he
opened 20 years ago, and believed to be skulking somewhere
in Syria, be brought to justice in Europe for crimes committed
more than 60 years ago? In a world confusedly grappling with
current dangers such as global terrorism, acute climate change
and desperate disparities in wealth, health and nutrition,
has the international community not far more pressing matters
to prosecute? more... |

BiH
a postoje i svjedočanstva stradalnika, iskazi odgovornih osoba
te još uvijek živi svjedoci. Tada je u insceniranoj pobuni
26/27. kolovoza 1941. u Požegi ubijeno 430 muškaraca, od 16
do 70 godina starosti. I za to se Ašner, među ostalim, tereti
kao okrivljenik na Županijskom sudu u Požegi" more... |
