The General Prosecution Office has started examination of 11 persons possible involved in war crimes. The Simon Wiesenthal Centre has submitted material about some of the persons. A year ago, the centre published information about some persons who had participated in war crimes, including execution of Jews in Latvia and abroad. Also, a year ago, Israeli director of the centre, Efraim Zuroff, announced that there are several thousands of people living in Latvia, who were involved in the nazi criminal actions.
